Welcome COPA Families,

We are excited to welcome you to the 2023-2024 dance year at the Centre of Performing Arts! We are so grateful to our new families that are newly joining us this year and our returning families. This will be a great year of growth and learning!

We are committed to creating and building a culture that supports all our dancers, families and our community.  We would like to take a moment and share some of the important work we do to honor this commitment.  In early 2021, the COPA staff came together to work on a shared Belief, Vision, and Mission statement for the studio.  These statements are what guides us in our decision making and support we provide to you. We are proud to share these with you below:

Centre of Performing Arts Belief Statement:

We believe in providing and supporting a strong foundation in various dance styles supports physical, mental, and emotional growth while instilling life skills for students to be active and contributing members of their communities.

Centre of Performing Arts Vision Statement:

Every child has equitable access to engage, participate, and learn dance skill, technique and performance aspects and meet their physical, mental, emotional needs while at the Centre of Performing Arts dance studio.

Centre of Performing Arts Mission Statement:

Centre of Performing Arts will prepare and support its students in learning and maintaining dance skill, technique and performance quality and their physical, mental, emotional needs by providing quality dance instruction in multiple dance disciplines, qualified staff and personnel to support our families and students, a strategic communication and community outreach program, and social emotional learning professional development and instruction.

Additionally, we have created a 3 year Strategic Plan with goals aligned to our belief, vision, and mission statements with actionable components to lift the work up and out into the studio and our community.  Our three main goals are shared below:

Goal I: Develop and support a robust recreational program

Goal II: Build capacity and leadership with staff

Goal III: Increase community outreach and impact

We thank you for allowing us the opportunity to share in your lives and connect through the love of dance.  We are hopeful and ready for what the future holds for our studio. Please know that we hear you, see you, and are here for you.  Let us know how we can continue to support you and your dancer as we move forward.  We appreciate you all and thank you for your support!

Please use this handbook as a one stop shop for all things COPA.  It will serve as a guide for parents and students to the studio and our policies.  We believe that our success comes as a result of providing solid training and quality service, as well as our underlying belief in the strength of our organization. We have created this handbook to offer our students and their parents a clear understanding of their commitments and responsibility to the studio. Happy reading and let us know if you have any questions!
